Foundations in Grammar I

Recommended Grade Levels 

Foundations in Grammar I lessons assist new Calvert students in the Fifth Grade with grammar basics. Topics covered in this course include an introduction to verbs of being, verb tense, regular and irregular verbs, pronouns, subject complements, comparison of adjectives and adverbs, and punctuation skills.

Foundations in Grammar II

Recommended Grade Levels 

This course uses our Fifth Grade Grammar lessons to assist new Sixth Graders, or older students needing a review of the fundamentals, and includes identifying the eight parts of speech, types of sentences, subject, predicate, and correct usage.

Writing Fun Kit

Recommended Grade Levels 

Teach your child the distinctive Calvert Script, an easy-to-learn method of handwriting and beginning composition used in our Day School. This method places an emphasis on simple lines and legibility. It also strengthens fine motor skills and attention to detail. Students learn to form letters, words, and simple sentences. This is an excellent selection for a Second Grader who is new to the Calvert curriculum. These lessons are included in our First Grade course.
