Calvert Math

A solid-foundation for higher level math skills

Calvert Math, our award-winning home school enrichment course for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade, teaches key math skills and how to apply them to everyday life situations. Our program places strong emphasis on the higher-level critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students explore concepts using daily lessons with colorful, clearly designed pages and easy-to-understand, step-by-step directions.

Our lessons introduce a concept, and students practice it, combining the new material with previously learned skills in an ever-expanding spiral of skill development. Children master basic facts and concepts, going beyond the mechanics to become confident mathematicians.

Each Calvert Math course includes a textbook, workbook, Lesson Manual, and grade-appropriate supplies, such as counting blocks, punch-out manipulatives, a compass, or a protractor, to enhance the learning experience. You may also enroll in the Advisory Teaching Service with any Calvert Math course for additional support from an Advisory Teacher.

Algebra

For accelerated math students, Calvert offers Algebra. Our Lesson Manual contains detailed instructions and easy-to-follow examples. Although parents remain involved, the Lesson Manual is written to the student. Our solutions manual provides step-by-step answers to textbook problems. Also included are lessons to teach the use of graphing calculators and a download for an easy-to-use computer program that replaces expensive graphing calculators.

Math Manipulatives

Calvert also offers Math manipulatives to help students make meaning of mathematical ideas. Manipulatives help address different learning styles and help students through different developmental stages as learners. Activities and lessons included in these sets span multiple grade levels offering years of instructional value.
