Little House

Little House uses Laura Ingalls Wilder's timeless American saga to teach children to read for appreciation. Guided readings in the series point out various themes, provide historical background, and highlight the traditional values presented in the saga. The Calvert-created reading guides encourage reading for pleasure. This option is ideal for those that have used this course in the past, and already have the Little House books and the picture book Laura Ingalls Wilder Country.

Robert McCloskey

Robert McCloskey: Favorite Story Books presents the classic works of one of America's best-loved illustrators and story tellers. The series consists of lessons to be used with five of Robert McCloskey's most celebrated titles. Each is written as if the author of the lesson is right there with the parent and student, offering comments on the text, pointing out things to look for in the artwork, and suggesting related activities to complement each story.
