Tracing the dawn of man as hunters and gatherers through the Agricultural Revolution; the development of culture and societies; early civilizations in Egypt, China, India, and Greece; relationship between the past and present; tools of historians

Geography

Mapping ancient civilizations; graphs, cartograms, and thematic maps; detailed examinations of the Eastern hemisphere and the continents of Asia, Africa, Oceania, and Antarctica; absolute relationship within places

Art History

Using Hillyer and Huey’s A Child’s History of Art to study sculpture from ancient Egypt through modern artists

Art

Coordinating with Art History study; Egyptian line drawing; soft-dough sculpture; relief sculpture; symmetry design
