Alabama Homeschool Support Groups

Homeschool support groups in your state are an excellent way to gain more assistance and guidance in your homeschooling endeavors. A regional support group fosters a wonderful sense on community among homeschooling families and allows for more opportunities to exchange ideas, plan group outings, and share in the overall experience of homeschooling! While Calvert supports the development of community between homeschool families, this list does not constitute affiliation between Calvert School and the groups represented below.

CHRISTIAN HOME EDUCATION FELLOWSHIP OF ALABAMA (CHEF)
CHEF of Alabama was founded in 1988 to serve all home educators in Alabama by providing information, services, and resources from a Christian perspective to anyone who needs help in the area of home schooling.
While we do not limit our services to Christians, our approach is decidedly from the Christian perspective. Our desire is to build strong families by encouraging the home education of our children using tried-and-true biblical principles.

NORTH ALABAMA HOME EDUCATORS
North Alabama Home Educators believe: parents are responsible for the total education of their children, parents are equipped and capable to teach and train their children, home education is superior to classroom instruction, home education encourages better character development, and that children do not belong to the state and parents have a constitutional right to educate their children as they see fit.

TEACHING AT HOME
Teaching At Home is resource group which encompasses all homeschooling families in the Central Alabama Region regardless of cover school, teaching methods, race, income level, religion or any other factors. HOMESCHOOLED KIDS & CO.
Homeschooled Kids & Co. is a local support group for families predominately from Escambia counties Alabama and Florida. Our group was formed in the 1990's when local Christian families, who were homeschooling, decided to come together for support and fellowship. In 2000 the group was officially named Homeschooled Kids & Co.

We currently have sixty-eight families enrolled representing approximately 150 students in grades K-4 through twelve. Families pay a yearly membership fee ($30 per family) which entitles their children to participate in HK&C activities. These activities consist of moms' meetings, field trips, Park Days, extra-curricular group classes, organized P.E., parties, and service projects.
