As a Calvert family since the early 1990's, we've used every grade and most of the Enrichments Calvert offers. Third grade is my personal favorite. Reading by now is more for information/pleasure than the actual work of decoding. Famous Americans is short, to the point, and a great jumping off spot to explore American History. My current sixth grader still keeps Greek Mythology on her shelf, it's still her favorite subject after three years! Science has always been a weak point in our home-school, but now that Calvert is including the grade level science kits, lab anxiety should be easy to overcome. Including hands on activities makes Science more interesting, easier to understand, and improves retention. We also enjoyed the Computer Skills and Applications that ties computer skills in with many different subjects. Third grade is awesome!

This is the first year that we are using Calvert but my daughter loves the subjects she is learning. She loves learning about Mythology and is enjoying working at her own pace. She also loves the programs on the computer and learning her keyboarding skills. I love what she is learning and the challenge that it is giving to her. The lesson manuals make it easy for me to teach her because all of the material is broken down for me. Calvert was the best choice for us.
